The Beauty of an Extravagant Blouse

There are many things which can take an otherwise simplistic or repetitive outfit and make it into something which can stand out. One such thing is an extravagant blouse. To be honest, it doesn’t have to be extravagant maybe just unique or maybe even just something you love. But it has some unique component, which is somehow tied to you or could act as a point of interest or make a statement.

This is the type of blouse I hope I am wearing in this photo. There are so many types of blouses and many people wear them for work and there are inherently many boring and unexciting blouse variants that you may have the “joy” of coming across.

Whilst there is inherently nothing wrong with these pieces, you must ask yourself how a plain white, button-up blouse if your wearing it outside of work reflects your personality. Why are you drawn to it? What makes it special? If you can come up with a meaningful answer then go for it. But, if not, I challenge you to find a piece which can convey more meaning. When you have found this consider which piece makes you happier when you are wearing it? If you do this, it is a helpful step on the path to developing your fashion style and developing one which is reflective of you and your unique style and personality.

This blouse is one which I brought in Dangerfield and is not my usually base colour – black. But I do love it. It is somehow quite a whimsical piece. This stylistic whimsical nature, I believe comes from the pieces cut.

The piece has open sleeves, which fan out from just below the elbow. These sleeves add this whimsical feeling to the blouse, whilst serving a stylist purpose as they work to make the shirt cool. This is a very strong bonus on hot days and saves you having to roll your sleeves, which can become inherently annoying at times. These sleeves on the surface may look impractical but I have never found them frustrating. The benefits I outlined above make them arguably a better design than a normal shirt.

The blouse has buttons at the front. The buttons are small and blend in are not a focal point of the piece. The shirt has a raised collar which is tied at the front into a bow. This collar adds to the whimsical feeling. It somehow reminds me of something that you might see in a fairy tale. I love that style, hence why I am a fan of the piece.

The piece also has a flower print pattern. The pattern is colourful and brings much-needed colour and further intrigue to the piece which extends beyond the unique cut. This pattern catches the eye and does what any good pattern should do and brings interest and uniqueness to a piece. It also provides colours and possibilities for matching other pieces within the outfit to the blouse.

In the pictures, I am seen with my orange corduroy jacket. This jacket matches the outfit well as the orange in the jacket matches the orange in the pattern. Additionally, the sleeves of the jacket are large and thus they do not restrict the sleeves. If you wore a tight jumper over this blouse the bunching of material as the sleeves were restricted can become uncomfortable whilst also forming weird bumps on your arms were the material bunches together which can often look odd, beyond the simple fact that it can be annoyingly uncomfortable.

I am wearing this outfit with a pair of light blue, denim jeans. These jeans have a loose cut, which is fitted at the waist but has loose and open trouser ends. This style of jean is the type I will wear happily. I struggle with skinny jeans. I do not find them comfortable nor do I find it easy to find a pair which suit me. However, I believe these jeans to be much more suited to my style and they are also comfortable and therefore are something I am happy to wear.

This is something which can be unstated. In the vein of constantly repeating myself wear what makes you comfortable. I know I repeat this an awful lot, but it is such an important consideration and one you can’t afford to continuously ignore.

Overall, these pieces compose a stylish outfit and one which makes a statement. This combined with the beautiful background in the photos makes for an amazing photo. The colours and the way they blend is spectacular and provide the perfect background for the outfit.
